Capsidian is an independently developed productivity app built with Flutter and AI-assisted vibe coding. Designed for Obsidian users, the app simplifies knowledge capture through quick notes, voice-to-text, image recognition, and vault integration.

The Challenge

Capturing ideas should be simple, but switching between apps to save notes, voice recordings, and images can interrupt the flow.

Capsidian was created to make everyday knowledge capture faster and more convenient for Obsidian users.

The challenge was to turn this idea into a functional mobile application, from designing the experience to building and improving the product, with just one developer.

The Solution

Capsidian was developed independently using Flutter and an AI-assisted vibe coding approach, combining product thinking with a faster, more flexible development workflow.

The app brings together several useful features:

  • Quick Notes: Capture ideas and save them as Markdown files.
  • Voice-to-Text: Turn spoken thoughts into written notes.
  • Image-to-Text: Extract text from images.
  • Obsidian Integration: Save and synchronize notes with an existing vault.
  • Mobile Widgets: Access notes and tasks directly from the home screen.

The Outcome

Capsidian became a publicly available Android application, bringing multiple knowledge-capture tools into one mobile experience.

More than a personal side project, Capsidian demonstrates how Flutter and AI-assisted development can help a solo developer bring an idea to market.

It reflects the spirit behind RoseRebel: turning ideas into working digital products, even with limited development resources.
